Cruise: Snap up a luxury cruise holiday for just £1 deposit – but you must act fast

Princess Cruises will be allowing passengers the opportunity to book their next cruise holiday for just £1 initially. On 5 March the guests will have the chance to put down a £1 deposit to secure their next holidays, however, once the day is over the deal will expire.

The offer will be applicable to all destinations and ships with cruises departing on or after June 1 2020.

Examples of itineraries included in the offer span a seven-night trip in Spain and France, and an 11-night Russia and Scandinavia cruise.

The deal is also eligible for all sailings spanning the UK throughout 2020 and 2021.

It’s the fourth year running that Princess Cruises has announced the one-day deal.

Guests who take advantage of the deal before the end of the day on 5 March will not have to pay any more than £1 until their balance due date – perfect for those who still have some saving to do.

Princess Cruises UK and Europe vice president Tony Roberts, said: “The success of the £1 deposit increases year on year for our agent partners and we are confident that our latest offer will be no exception.

“We would like to thank the trade for their ongoing support of the low deposit day.

“By giving guests the chance to secure a booking for just £1, there has never been a more affordable time to book a holiday.”

The cruise line is also offering passengers who snap up the deal in time the opportunity to get their hands on a Princess Plus package boasting free premium drinks, unlimited Wi-Fi and complimentary gratuities for £25 per person per day.

The package was first introduced as a limited time offer but has been extended due to its popularity.

The add-on would normally cost over £70 per person per day for guests who pay for these items in advance of their cruise or onboard.

The premium drinks package includes cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, coffee and tea. It also includes soft drinks and mocktails.

Roberts added: “We are constantly striving to enhance the onboard experience for our guests and by introducing the package as a permanent fixture we are giving people the chance to make the most of their holiday while saving money at the same time.”

The news comes as the cruise line is also offering passengers a discount of up to £400 per passenger per flight on all of its American sailings.

Covering sailings in 2020 and 2021, travellers departing on cruises across northern and central America, as well as the Caribbean, Hawaii, Panama Canal and South America are eligible for the deal.

It’s the perfect time of year for cruise enthusiasts who want to bag a holiday for a cut of the price.

Many cruise lines are also beginning to offer spring repositioning cruises in the coming months. Repositioning cruises are one-off itineraries that come when cruise ships change to a new homeport.

Boasting unique routes with plenty of time out in the open waters, tickets for these cruises are often sold at a lower price.

“Not many travellers know about repositioning cruises, but if you enjoy the idea of luxury cruise living with many days at sea and also want to grab a great cruise deal at the same time, then a repositioning cruise might be the answer,” Kerry Spencer, Editor of Cruise Critic told

According to Kerry, passengers could save as much as 70 percent on the usual ticket price.
