Walt Disney World in Orlando is accepting hotel reservations
on its website for dates starting July 1. Disney World is also enabling customers to buy theme park
tickets online from July 1.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Disney World has been closed since March 15.
The reactivation of Walt Disney World’s online ticketing and
reservations system come as the destination prepares to start a phased
reopening of dining and shopping district Disney Springs on May 20.
Disney, however, has yet to formally announce a reopening
date for its Orlando parks. According to a Disney booking agent, Disney World
will continue to be temporarily closed “until another announcement is made.”
“While it’s too early to predict when we will be able to
begin resuming operations at all of our parks and resorts, we will be taking a
cautious, phased approach with limits on attendance, controlled guest density
using social distancing, and enforcement of all government-required health and
prevention procedures,” the booking agent said.
Shanghai Disneyland, which shuttered back in January, reopened
on May 11 with new protocols in place for attendance limits, social distancing
and temperature screenings, among other safety measures.
Disneyland in California has been closed since March 14,
with a reopening date “yet to be identified,” according to Disney.
