Kempinski opens second Cuba hotel

Kempinski has opened the Gran Hotel Bristol, the luxury
hotel group’s second property in Havana.

The Gran Hotel Bristol joins sister property Gran Hotel
Manzana Kempinski in the Cuban capital. However, both hotels are on the U.S.
Department of State’s list of restricted entities, which prohibits U.S.
travelers from staying at either.

Blacklisted hotels are typically controlled by Cuba’s military, intelligence or security services.

The new hotel is near the city’s National Capitol Building.

Kempinski plans to open a third property in Cuba, the Cayo
Guillermo Resort Kempinski, later this month.
