The Kahala Hotel and Resort has named Pualani Fernandez as resort manager, the Honolulu property announced in a statement.
Fernandez will supervise the overall operation and strategic management of the 338-room luxury hotel, and comes to the role with nearly two decades of hospitality industry experience. She previously served in various management roles at the JW Marriott Ihilani Ko Olina Resort and Spa, Hilton Hawaiian Village, Four Seasons Resort Maui, Four Seasons Hotel Newport Beach, and Four Seasons Aviara San Diego. Prior to coming to the Kahala, she was hotel manager for the Prince Waikiki.
“Pualani is a hospitality industry veteran with a passion for perpetuating and sharing Hawaiian culture,” Joe Ibarra, general manager of The Kahala Hotel and Resort, said in a statement. “Having served at some of the most highly regarded properties in Hawaii and the West Coast, she brings a wealth of experience and leadership in luxury hospitality and will play a key role as we strive to enhance our guests’ experience at the Kahala.”
