An oenophile’s dream: the Bordeaux region in south-western France provides the perfect base for an exceptional bike and boat experience. Set at the confluence of the Garonne River and the Gironde estuary, Bordeaux is one of the most prolific and famous wine growing regions in the world. The vineyards that cover the rolling hills of this iconic wine district have for centuries produced France’s most remarkable wines. Cycle through vineyards and villages – and even a fortified citadel in Blaye – there are opportunities to visit many of the wine houses to sample their wares.
