A recent study by money.co.uk named the “world’s best coastal destinations” for those who are planning a summer holiday or looking to relocate to a dreamy beach spot this year. After analysing 50 of the highest-rated coastal cities in the world, considering factors such as the average annual temperature and rainfall, they revealed that the perfect beach can be found in the USA.

According to the money experts, if holidaymakers want to visit an unforgettable destination this summer or “if you want to relocate somewhere where you can enjoy the fresh sea air”, then Miami is the best option.

Miami, in Florida, is known for its “gorgeous beaches and the average sea temperature is 26.3C, giving it the edge over the colder waters of California,” they explained.

The most popular beach in Miami is South Beach, with its white sand, turquoise water and colourful lifeguard towers.

On Tripadvisor, a traveller named Tom who recently visited the spot described it as “a very beautiful beach”.

“We had a late flight out of the area after a cruise, so spent the morning on the beach with a couple of chairs and an umbrella. Clean, white sand beach. Nice cool water with an easy surf. Great place to relax and get some sun.”

Another visitor named Stephen also described it as a “great beach” and said: “It is a really great stretch of beach just off Ocean Drive. Flat sand and runs for miles. Good facilities to wash off the sand.”

Traveller Rayne said South Beach is just “amazing”. They added: “One the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. White sand, warm clean water. Lifeguard stations.”

Travellers will enjoy visiting Lummus Park Beach, in the South Beach neighbourhood, and walking around Ocean Drive, famous for its beautiful Art Deco buildings.

The popular city in Florida was followed by San Francisco, in California, a town “with cooler winds than Miami” but equally stunning.

In third place on the best coastal destinations list was Singapore, with the warmest average sea temperatures of any city in this ranking at 29.1C.

For those looking to move to another country, Singapore “is very diverse and has a thriving expat community with many British expats calling it home”.

According to the research, the destination with the warmest weather is Dubai, in the UAE, with an average annual temperature of 28.2C.

Abu Dhabi, also in the UAE, is the relocation destination with the lowest amount of average annual rainfall at 42mm.
