With staycations the holiday trend this summer, many Britons went on a camping trip. On social media, people are sharing tips to make a camping trip as successful as possible. And while tips such as glow sticks for optimal lighting have been widely shared, there is another area people seem to be obsessed with.
Camping food is a subject that has many social media users excited.
One person said: “Get Ice cream cones and put marshmallows and chocolate chips in them and wrap in tin foil to cook on the fire.
“Easy treat for the kids!”
For a healthy option, someone replied: “We do this with bananas so I can pretend it’s healthy.”

A very handy tip was shared for the best breakfast while camping.
Someone wrote: “Break eggs into a pourable dispenser before leaving and it’s so much easier than dealing with cracked eggs or taking up fridge space with the carton!”
Other users were fans, with one person saying the tip was “genius”.
Most of social media seemed obsessed with camping food and it’s not hard to see why.
While staying outdoors is a fantastic staycation option, it also requires some adaptability at mealtimes.
Without access to all the usual kitchen equipment, campers have to get creative.
For the best mealtime fun, tips came thick and fast.
One person said: “Pegs to keep your tablecloth from flying away.”
Another wrote: “Paper plates. Toss in the fire after the meal!”
And this thrifty tip can save space and money: “Save up some condiment packs from restaurants, along with jams and peanut butter.
“Takes less space when packing and it’s thrifty.”
To save space, one user said: “Frozen food that works like ice packs and no waste.”
Pre-cooking meals was also a popular hack.
One user wrote: “Pre-make easy to heat up meals. Like chili etc. So much easier.”
Breakfast was widely discussed.
Apart from eggs poured into a dispenser, coffee and tea also had their hacks.
One user said: “Powdered whole milk for morning tea in the bush. Weightless and almost as good as fresh.”
Another wrote: “Instant coffee in the oatmeal. Tastes disgusting but saves you from boiling water twice.”
