Google Maps Street View cars photograph the street of the world from the ground level. Sometimes they can catch some very intriguing sights. One such scene is going viral after being posted to content-sharing site Reddit.

The image depicts a vehicle outside a white building on a sunny day.

However, the jeep is no ordinary car.

It appears to be much wider than any jeep normally seen on the road.

Normally such cars feature a spare tire on the boot door.

However, this vehicle boasts two tires on the back.

It also appears to have three back wheels rather than just two.

Is the jeep a new form of car that has yet to hit headlines or is there more to the story?

The reality, while undoubtedly more boring, is that the vehicle is actually an ordinary jeep.

It has, it would seem, suffered at the hands of a Google glitch.

The photography splicing has likely caused the problem due to the way the images are assembled.

When taking the photo, the 360-degree cameras shoot multiple pictures to create the seamless image.

This is done by knitting the images together to make it seem realistic.

However, moving objects often ruin the scene as they shift when the photos are taken.

So it’s possible the jeep moved as the image was snapped.

The strange-looking car was posted to Reddit with the caption: “google maps what have you done (sic).”

Other users soon shared their own thoughts.

“I think they call it the double-wide,” one quipped.

Another replied: “I call it an infinite source of tires.”

A third saw an advantage to such a jeep.

“That could actually be useful for offroading,” they commented.
