Nancy Trejos is
Travel Weekly’s new senior editor for cruise.
Trejos is a veteran of more than 20 years in journalism
for several top publications, including the Washington Post and USA Today. She joins Travel Weekly from Skift, where she was
hospitality editor. Trejos replaces Tom Stieghorst, who retired in December.
Trejos spent seven years as a travel reporter for USA Today,
covering every aspect of the industry. Her work took her to places as far-flung
as Germany, Ireland, Singapore, Australia, Colombia, Brazil and Cuba.
Prior to joining USA Today, Trejos covered various news
beats during a 13-year stint at the Washington Post. In 2006, she spent two
months in Baghdad covering the Iraq War as an embedded reporter. She also spent a year as a news reporter at the Los Angeles
Times and worked for the Associated Press.
Trejos is the author of the personal finance memoir “Hot
(Broke) Messes: How to Have Your Latte and Drink it Too” (Business Plus, 2010).
A graduate of Georgetown University with a bachelor’s degree
in government, Trejos lives in New York.
