Looking to book quality accommodation on a budget?
It may surprise you that Wetherspoon has been rated as the best hotel chain in Britain.
A Which? survey found that the cheap lodgings are just as well-loved as Premier Inn.
Both hotel chains racked up a winning score of 79% – which was higher than Hilton, Radisson Blu and Marriott.
UK’s worst airport for security delays named – and it’s not in London
The poll asked 8,000 consumers to rate 34 well-known hotel chains.
They are asked to give ratings on categories such as cleanliness, comfort, service and value.
After the figures were totalled, Wetherspoon and five-time winner Premier Inn were victorious.
The former was praised for its “huge stylish rooms” and value for money.
Meanwhile, the latter was commended for its “good quality” and “competitive price”.

1. Wetherspoon Hotels – 79%
2. Premier Inn – 79%
3. Hilton Garden Inn – 78%
4. Radisson Blu Edwardian – 77%
5. Hilton Hampton – 74%
Conde Nast Traveller names top places to visit in 2020 – and Plymouth makes the list
While Wetherspoons and Premier Inn came out on top, Britannia was ranked as the UK’s worst hotel chain.
The results aren’t a surprise, as the accommodation has held this title for seven years.
EasyHotel and Ibis Budget also didn’t score very highly in the survey.
